Message from the Principal

First I want to thank all the parents, students, staff and community members, for making my first semester at Barton Hill a huge success. Our Parent Center, PTO and Alumni Association are one of the best in the District, I would argue the State. We have accomplished more in 6 months than most schools do in 5 years. Barton Hill is on the move in community building, education and safety. We will be the model school!

As our students are finishing up their DIBELS assessment, I am continued to be amazed by their hard work. It is evident that our Cougar family values education. This was proven by the incredible turnout for our annual Family Math Night. Our dedicated teachers and parent center worked tirelessly to organize this successful event. THANK YOU ALL!

It is with great pleasure that I let you know our School Improvement Grant (SIG) committee is very close to selecting an Educational Management Organization (EMO). We are assessing the companies and evaluating which will serve our students needs the best. A selection will be made by the middle of the month. Another addition to our Barton Hill Family is a SIG administrator. He/she will start at the end of the month and will be overseeing all aspects of SIG.

We also need to inform the community that we have applied for the STEAM Magnet program. If we receive this honor, we will have a magnet school on campus starting 2018.

*Next time you are on campus take special notice of the new beautiful banners that clearly defines our school expectations!
